Artist's Comments

watch the tiny flutter of wings
come together from out of the darkness . . .
they are anxious and excitable in the heat
and they are drawn to the light.

+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+

no brushes
no blur
no smudge

just curves and saturation.

this is me doubly reflected
in a mud spattered kitchen window
and the moth body facing me through the glass . . .

Laughing my ass off! the dirty glass thing. Its like your Mum telling you to wear clean knickers in case you get run over and the doctor sees them. NOW CLEAN THAT WINDOW!!! :lmao;

When I first saw the small version of this I thought it was a manip of the moth. Why is it that, because it is not, the image comes totally into life :-) (Smile)

This is gorgeous
i love the alignment of the moth with your stance, and the expression of wonder on your face. The way you are blurry and 'out-of-focus' behind (or in the reflection of) the glass is to me one of the best features of this shot in contrast with the body of the moth. Beautiful work, +fav

nice.....it helps to know how you go about things sometimes, huh - thank you for that

the darkness lets the moth be placed so well, the negative space really works well in this photo image as well....

"To each their own" I always say.

At first I though it was captured when the moth flew.. thats before I read your description, its your way of capturing it, the perspective and everything.. very nice!!!

I'm impressed by many things in this image. The overall composition, the technique used to capture it, and of course, with its beauty. You have a wonderful gallery and this one is certainly one of the outstanding images in it.

Nice to run into another Maryland photographer here, too.
